Leaseweb picks up ITQ’s white label VCSP customer base

IaaS specialist bolsters its position as a VMware Pinnacle Partner with the addition of more customers across Europe

Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) specialist Leaseweb has picked up the Broadcom VMware white-label VCSP customer base of European services player ITQ.

The acquired white-label VCSP partners had previously been working under the Broadcom VMware Advantage Partner Programme and are still able to carry on with their offerings under Leaseweb’s Pinnacle Partner Status.

The move has been made against the backdrop of an evolving Broadcom VMware channel, where fewer partners are working with the vendor.

Since the introduction of the VCSP programme last October, Broadcom VMware has moved to work with partners that can offer VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) as a managed service. That has seen a more select group of partners emerge that have continued to serve the vendor’s customer base.

Other players in the Broadcom VMware ecosystem have also been using acquisition as a means of bolstering their position, with 11:11 Systems a key example after having made numerous additions to bolster its position as a VCSP.

Leaseweb and ITQ are known to each other, and recently announced a strategic partnership, with the former offering VCF services to the latter’s VMware customer base.

The decision to acquire ITQ’s white-label VCSP customer base will see 51 customers migrate to Leaseweb’s VCF platform, which represents 35,000 cores, taking Leaseweb’s core count to 65,000.

The move also makes it the largest VMware Pinnacle Partner in the Netherlands and continues to bolster the channel player’s position within the vendor’s channel ecosystem across Europe.

“This announcement represents an important step in the expansion of our Broadcom VMware Cloud Foundation business and reinforces our long-term commitment to organisations building their future on VMware,” said Lex Boost, co-CEO of Leaseweb.

“We are delighted to welcome ITQ’s VCSP partners to the Leaseweb platform and look forward to supporting their continued growth with enterprise-grade infrastructure and direct access to Broadcom through our Pinnacle Partner status.”

Leaseweb is also working with ITQ to target non-renewing Broadcom VMware VCSP partners across Europe to offer a support option for the business to keep them involved in the ecosystem.

Francisco Perez van Oord, founder and president of ITQ, said its involvement with Leaseweb was a positive for its user base. “Leaseweb’s Broadcom VMware VCSP Pinnacle Partner status and enterprise-grade infrastructure make it a natural fit for our white label VCSP customers,” he said.

“It also allows us to continue supporting them with our VMware expertise while providing a trusted platform for long-term growth,” Perez added.

Leaseweb has been enhancing its ability to work with more UK partners, and last month cut the ribbon on a fresh programme and appointed Jason Goody as UK channel sales manager.

The three-tiered programme has been designed to support partners with increased flexibility to enable increased profitability.

Speaking last month, Terry Storrar, managing director UK at Leaseweb, stated: “The UK channel represents a significant growth opportunity as more organisations look to adopt hybrid cloud strategies that offer greater flexibility, control and cost efficiency.

“Our new channel partner programme reflects Leaseweb’s long-term investment in the partner ecosystem, giving partners the flexibility, support and scalability they need to deliver tailored services to customers.”
