One of the main approaches Veeam has taken to growing its channel base has been through striking up relationships with other channel friendly vendors.
The virtualisation specialist initially worked with VMware and built up its reseller base attracting those looking to add its backup technology into as part of a wider solution. Then it added Microsoft to the list and brought on board plenty of that vendor's partners.
From October Veeam will be added to the Cisco global price list giving the networking giant's channel a chance to also sell the vendor's technology.
Veeam has been working with Cisco closely for a couple of years and has gone through several Cisco Validated Design steps to get to a point where back in March it was able to integrate its direct snapshot technology into the Cisco Hyperflex.
Now the technology is on the global price list it means that a reseller can add Veeam to a quote at the same time as the Cisco kit they want to include in the deal.
The vendors believe that the market is out there with more customers putting greater focus on data availability and undergoing digital transformation strategies which will mean they get the chance to get on top of their infrastructure and prepare it for the future.
From a Cisco point of view it makes sense to add more virtualisation support to ensure that it can deal with the growing number of customers operating with a hybrid environment.
"I look forward to the next chapter in our relationship with Cisco. I anticipate continued conversations and implementations with our joint customers as we provide them with the peace of mind that their data Availability and digital transformation challenges can be solved," said Peter McKay, co-CEO and president of Veeam.
