The personnel departments in the channel rarely rest but just in the last couple of days there has been a bout of changes that have kept business card printers busy.
The firm has appointed former Vodafone executive Darren Fields as regional director, UK & Ireland. He has a strong background in the cloud and hosting market and has a background that also includes some time spent at Dell. Reporting to Michelle Senecal de Fonseca, area vice president, Northern Europe, he will be responsible for the continued growth and development of Citrix sales and services operations in the UK & Ireland by driving revenues and executing an aggressive growth strategy.
This weekend Jannik Haargaard started his role as President of Europe. His promotion comes after an 11 year spell with the firm that has included multiple roles in the business, including most recently as vice president of operations and finance, Europe. He replaces Lee Marsden, who is heading to a new business venture. “Building on the strong high performance culture within Zyxel, it's time to set the next goal,” said Jannik. “Together with our partners we'll continue to collaborate and drive success in the SMB and Service Provider segments. We understand the Customer’s Journey and will leverage Digital Transformation to take Zyxel forward.”
The recovery and continuity player has appointed Mike Osborne, former managing director of business continuity, cloud & hosting at Daisy Group, to the new position of executive chairman. Peter Groucutt, managing director of Databarracks, described Osborne as "a continuity guru who has made an incredible contribution to the discipline and many of those working in it".
The firm has added some staff to its AV division, Exertis Medium, to help support Promethean sales. Steve Shervington has been appointed business development manager for Promethean, joining from Genee World, a manufacturer of audio visual ICT equipment. The distributor has also hired two dedicated account managers: Leona Brown who has worked for almost two years within the Exertis AV team prior to the acquisition of Medium and Stephanie Grange who joins from outside the industry.
