Ingram Micro has shuffled the senior management in its EMEA operation just a week after its rival Tech Data unveiled its post Avnet acquisition executive structure.
After a 25 year stint with the distributor Robert Beck has decided the time is right to leave Ingram Micro and that has left a vacancy for an executive director pan EMEA development at the distributor.
Mark Chelbeck, who until recently was senior director advanced solutions EMEA, has taken up the role and will oversee the purchasing and management team for the channel player's centralised EMEA vendors.
Chelbeck is himself an Ingram veteran having joined the firm in 1997 and has held a number of roles that should prove to be valuable experience as he takes up the new role.
He will be reporting into the executive vice president and global group president of EMEA Mark Snider. The pkan is that Beck will slowly step back from being involved with the business.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Robert Beck for his many years of service and dedication to Ingram Micro. I’d also like to thank him for volunteering to help with a smooth transition, ensuring Ingram Micro business will continue without interruption to our vendor and customer partners," said Snider.
"[Chelbek] brings with him years of EMEA-wide experience driving innovation and growth for our business," he added.
Last week Tech Data was also busy shuffling its European management team as the Avnet Technology Services acquisition was finally sealed.
Former Avnet staffer Patrick Zammit was named the President of Tech Data Europe with Andy Gass, keeping his post of senior vice president and regional manager for the UK and Ireland, reporting into him.
