Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

It's been another busy few days for the channel personnel departments as more people take up fresh challenges

It's been another week of 'first days' in the channel with some sale teams getting to meet new colleagues and be given grand visions of where future growth will come from. Here are a few appointments that caught the attention in the last few working days.

The Change Organisation
The distributor has brought on board Adrian Barnard as CEO as it looks to incease its profile. His CV includes founding Modern Communications, which he sold in 2014 before becoming founder and managing director of Prime Networks.  It’s my ambition to increase the sales margins and reshape the sales structure of this superb company to help raise its profile by introducing it to the wider customer-base it deserves," he said.

The cloud-based security player has hired former CMS Distribution and Ideal Hardware staffer Simon Carr as director of sales for EMEA. "He will play a major role in empowering our resellers, distributors and integrators to meet the growing demand for robust and reliable cloud-based security solutions. High-margin revenue streams will also be a focus for us within EMEA,” said John Mutch, CEO at iSheriff.

The firm has made a couple of senior appointments, including one on the channel front. Ezra Hookano has taken up the role of vice president of channels and Hatem Naguib takes up the position of senior vice president and general manager of the security business. Before taking up his latest role Hookano was vice president of channels for Exablox and vice president of worldwide channels for Fusion-io. “From the time Barracuda first set out to solve email security challenges over a decade ago, channel partners have been integral to the company’s success,” said Hookano.

The audio communications specialist has appointed Louise Crawford as channel programmes coordinator. In that role she will be the first point of contact for partners looking to work with the vendors and will oversee its deal registration and Express price Support programmes. "The appointment of Louise reflects the ongoing success of our channel programmes and demonstrates our commitment to maintaining and improving the level of service we’re providing for our partners in UK and Ireland. We have no doubt that Louise’s addition to the team will help us further strengthen our relationship with our partner community," said Paul Dunne, country manager – UK & Ireland at Plantronics.
