Security specialist Accumuli Security has splashed out £8.9m to pick up fellow channel player RandomStorm in a move designed to extend its own portfolio and provide it with more of a presence in Yorkshire.
RandomStorm employs 50 staff and operates out of Leeds and Wetherby and has its own intellectual property and services which take security data and turn it into useful intelligence for customers.
Accumuli has been following a strategy of acquisition to bolster its portfolio and picked up a couple of firms - Signify Solutions and Eqalis - last year and can now add RandomStorm to that growing list.
"RandomStorm is a business which has excelled in providing market leading integrated information security solutions and services to help its customers manage IT risk and implement security best practice,” said Gavin Lyons, CEO, Accumuli. “Its expertise and experience in IP creation and security services will add tremendous value to our business and our customer intimacy strategy.”
“As a business we remain focused on helping our customers manage IT risk and leveraging their IT assets – we are particularly excited about utilising the IP that has been created, and combining vulnerability management, penetration testing, compliance and audit services with our 24x7x365 Security Operation Centre, to offer our customers a true end-to-end managed service," he added.
Accumuli already has an operation in Leeds and will now look to establish more of a "substantial base in the West Yorkshire region" as it keeps the staff from both operations on-board.
RandomStorm has been operating since 2007 and has picked up plenty of awards and is a CESG CHECK security consultancy, as well as a Qualified Security Assessor and an Approved Scanning Vendor for the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
