NTT Com Security bolsters senior management team

NTT Com Security has brought on board an industry veteran to work across Northern Europe as it looks for further growth

In a move designed to increase its chances of tapping into greater demand for threat protection products and services NTT Com Security has taken further steps to strenghten its UK management team.

The channel player has brought on board an industry veteran Peter Cunningham, with experience at McAfee, Sun Microsystems and air transport specialist SITA.

As senior vice president for Northern Europe the UK along with the Nordics and Benelux will be covered by Cunningham as he looks to drive growth, which could be organic or via an acquisition.

Simon Church, CEO at NTT Com Security, said that there was more awareness among customers over security matters and it was against that background it was bringing on board Cunningham to its senior management team.

“The role of SVP Northern Europe is a critical one and Peter fits the role perfectly. His industry knowledge and experience in rapid growth enterprises will enable us to take our Northern European business to the next level and complements our international growth strategy," he said.

In response Cunningham said that his previous experience would be useful as the firm not only pushed more value added services but also looked to get staff and supply chain partners behind its strategy.

Ntt Com Security has undertaken its own research, which revealed that although the awareness of the risks of a data breach were increasing there was still a fair amount of work to be done to get companies protected.

“Most business decision makers are not primarily concerned with the technology challenges faced by their organisations. As an industry, we need to be smarter at educating businesses about the wider implications of data breaches. We are confident that Peter will help drive that step change in Northern Europe, so that data security becomes an essential part of a company’s overall risk posture," said Church.
