Interactive whiteboard specialist Promethean has extended an upgrade campaign for resellers selling to schools until the end of the year because of the demand for the offer.
Under the terms of the deal the reseller gets £200 for schools that trade in their old board for Promethean's ActivBoard 500, which can be offered to the customer as a 'cash-back' deal or training worth almost double that is also a potential incentive for an upgrade.
Promethean's exclusive UK distributor Maverick is handling the deal and Simon Fagan, director for UK and Ireland at the channel player, said that resellers and schools would benefit from the deal.
"This additional enticement should persuade many schools to upgrade and when they make that decision, we will be ready to help resellers take the opportunity," he said.
Many of the interactive whiteboards that were rolled out in schools as part of an initiative by the last Labour government are coming up to the point where a refresh is needed and Fagan said many schools would be tempted by a cash back or training offer.
