Citrix has hired the former general manager of HP Networking Europe to head up Europe with the job of increasing growth and improving the effectiveness of partners across EMEA.
The appointment of Carlos Sartorius as vice president and general manager for EMEA comes as the vendor surfs a wave of interest in its remote access tools as the bring your own device movement it champions starts to take-off in earnest.
In his career to date Sartorius has worked at Orange Business Services, France Telecom and Avaya and was most recently vice president and general manager EMEA for HP Networking.
His background involves a fair bit of dealing with the channel and this was seen by Al Monserrat, senior vice president, sales and services for Citrix, as a positive attribute.
"He has experience with channel, OEM, service provider and enterprise sales models. And he has consistently demonstrated he knows how to grow and manage dynamic and large technology businesses in multilingual and multicultural environments," he said.
Sartorius replaces Scott Herren who is now returning to corporate headquarters to be given a new role.
