The former director of BT Engage IT's Red and Blue recruitment operation is back in the channel after launching a contract arm at executive IT search firm Freshfield Services.
After ten years at Red and Blue, Simon Hunt left earlier this year when BT closed the business and has set up a Technical Services unit seeking contracted staff for Freshfield's existing IT and Business Process Outsourcing consultancy clients.
"After 18 months of difficult market conditions, 2010 has seen a significant upturn in the IT recruitment sector, Hunt told MicroScope.
He claimed there had been a positive response from the business community following the General Election and projects were again being signed off.
According to recent research, the demand for permanent placements has gone up since the turn of the year, firms have clearly not shaken off the uncertainty caused by the recession as evidenced by Freshfield's decision to bolt on a contract arm.
