Wireless LAN hotshot Meru Networks has jumped into bed with Westcon to provide value-added distribution services in the UK.
Meru, which works with Westcon in other theatres and also has relationships with Siracom and Sphinx in the UK, is giving Westcon access to its complete portfolio, which will be sold through the distie’s UK Convergence Business Practice.
Westcon will be targeting the kit at dealers specialising in wireless-friendly verticals, such as hospitality, logistics and retail.
Meru international sales vice president, Dave Kelly, said the pre-existing relationship meant the programme could get off to a smooth start.
“Westcon offers an impressive range of voice, video and data products and the addition of Meru’s wireless infrastructure will enable resellers to implement all of these applications simultaneously, and more importantly reliably,” he said.
Privately-held Meru, which does not release financial information, claimed the deal would enhance its competitiveness against Cisco.
