Datacentre and infrastructure supplier, Onyx Group, has bolstered its executive team with two new appointments as it ramps up an investment drive.
Paul Crinnion has been brought in as group operations director, and James Carver as commercial director.
Crinnion has a background in technical roles at companies such as Vodafone, Orange, Cisco and Motorola while Carver will be drawing on from experience gained at EMC and Northamber in business continuity and risk management.
The appointments follow a £2m investment in its Yorkshire facility and the opening of a fifth data hall in its Edinburgh datacentre.
Neil Stephenson, CEO, Onyx, is bullish about the appointments: “The need for resilient IT services is constantly growing. More and more organisations are realising the impact that technology can have on business operations and our recent investment and expansion allows us to stay at the forefront of this sector.
"Both Paul and James have a vast amount of experience and I am confident that their expertise will help propel the organisation to new heights.”
The company recently released a survey which claimed that one-in-three UK SMEs are putting their business at risk by storing data back-up onsite and that less than half of back-up data is off-site in a secure datacentre.
