Ahead of a planned channel programme refresh, SMB networking specialist D-Link has launched a new line-up of 802.11n wireless products pitched at midmarket firms, and added new partner sales tools to its online portal.
The vendor's new high-speed line-up is designed to "catch a more sophisticated user," according to D-Link UK and Ireland general manager Chris Davies (
"We have had success targeting SMB but this is now more scalable - it has for instance 64 APs rather than 48 - so we can go to the top end of the SMB market and maybe low-end enterprise offices. We wanted to widen the prospective customer range for partners," said Davies.
He added that it also gave D-Link an opportunity to widen the breadth of reseller partner it works with, although he insisted the smaller-end partners would not be left out. The vendor's revamped partner programme is set to be unveiled during the next few months.
The vendor has also added new tools to its online portal ahead of the refresh, including a wireless calculator designed to enable dealers to plan AP location, range and other key details of wireless networks as part of a prospective customer quote.
