HMRC are known to be vigorous when it comes to pursuing tax it believes is owed and the case of Securidoor proves the point well.
Mrs Ryan-Munden was a director of Securidoor and during a visit to the firm in 2006, HMRC found that the company owned a Mercedes car which it had made available - with fuel - to Mrs Ryan-Munden. Securidoor said it was a pool car, but HMRC thought otherwise and sought more than £25000 in missing Income Tax from Mrs Ryan-Munden as she had failed to prove that the car was indeed a pool car.
The point here is that with all expenses claims being made, you need to satisfy HMRC's rules before you make a successful bona fide claim.
