There is a slight sense of irony about the moves made by Microsoft to challenge Google through the EU over its dominant position on search.

If you cast your mind back quite a few years it was Microsoft who found itself hogging court time in the US as it fought off various challenges to what were at the time its dominance of the desktop.

It is hard not to view these types of legal challenges as a desperate attempt to get the law to try and do what you haven't be able to do commercially.

We wait to see what the results of the anti-competition claim will be. Better clear some space in the diary for the next few years if previous examples of these things are anything to go by.
