Now that the world has gone digital - in many areas anyway - it won't surprise readers to know that Companies House plans to become an entirely electronic service.

As a result, for standard companies, incorporations, filing of annual returns, accounts and company changes will be totally electronic from March 2013. The changes will require consultation and new regulations to be passed through Parliament.

For Companies House the changes will mean enhanced accuracy, better security (and lower levels of fraud). Users can expect faster processing and hopefully no increases in fees - for a little while.
