The channel is full of people with big hearts and a determination to share their time and talents to help others and raise money for good causes.
Spare a thought this Thursday for the team of 30 cyclists who will be heading from London to Paris to raise money for Help for Heroes.
Among the group will be Syscap managing director Philip White who is riding with others from enterprise software player Infor with the aim of cycling 230 miles over three days to get from Horse Guards Parade to the Eiffel Tower.
In the run up to the ride there has been a lot of training and time to visit the Help for Heroes facility at Tedworth House, one of the charity's four recovery centres, to see just what the charity provides and to get some inspiration.
In a post on his LinkedIn page White summed up what the experience of meeting some of the wounded members of the Armed Forces at Tedworth House had meant to him.
"Turning every corner there is story. Bravery, sadness, joy and overwhelming generosity from benefactors and supporters. No fuss, no fanfares just doing stuff for the blokes," he wrote.
"The work that Help for Heroes do, and the team at Tedworth House is incredible, humbling and inspiring in equal measure, the support that they provide is invaluable," he added.
White has managed to raise almost £7,000 through his JustGiving page, which is over double his initial target of £3,000 and as a group the Cycle Infor for Heroes team has reached £50,000.
There is still time to give and support White through his JustGiving page.
