Cloud Distribution grows complimentary offerings with Cynet

The distributor has added incident response to the tools it is prepared to give away to resellers as part of its efforts to improve security levels

Cloud Distribution continues to give resellers free security tools to help them provide customers with greater protection.

The channel player has teamed up with Cynet to give resellers the chance to provide their customers with incident response tools, supported by the vendor’s platform and managed detection and response (MDR) services.

The incident response option is being enabled through Cloud ARMR Managed Cyber Security Services, and is available to value-added resellers (VARs), managed service providers (MSPs) and security integrators. The idea is that it gives the partner a chance to help customers deal with problems without having to invest in an incident response team.

“Our partners are constantly seeking new ways to differentiate themselves, access new revenue channels, retain more margin, and add more value to their customers and prospects. Providing visibility and detection has been instrumental for our VARs to help customers find and understand the vulnerabilities in their networks,” said Adam Davison, sales and marketing director for Cloud Distribution.

This move follows an earlier move by the distie to provide a complimentary password management offering from Forghetti to make sure the channel is on top of that issue and encouraging users to follow best practice.

“One of the main causes of cyber vulnerability is the human factor. A strong security mechanism has two vital components: on the one hand, the performant infrastructure and applications which constantly need to be improved, updated and strengthened; and on the other, the awareness and knowledge of the user,” said Mike Crompton, founder and CEO of Forghetti.

“We wanted to start 2020 with a positive message that gets the channel thinking and provides education about the importance of password protection, something we all so easily forget or ignore”

“Partnering with Cloud Distribution and sharing a common goal with a focus on education, we hope to promote a healthier security conduct, make users feel comfortable and more knowledgeable about cyber security and, last but not least, resolve the ‘password problem’ for everyone,” he added.

Speaking at the launch of the password offering, Davison said the distributor had wanted to be proactive in helping educate the channel and users.

“We wanted to start 2020 with a positive message that gets the channel thinking and provides education about the importance of password protection, something we all so easily forget or ignore. We chose to work side-by-side with a fellow UK organisation to help the UK channel,” he said.

Exclusive signs HYCU

Meanwhile, fellow security distributor Exclusive Networks has added to its portfolio with the signing of HYCU, which specialises in data backup, recovery and monitoring for enterprise clouds.

Exclusive has a strong track record in developing solutions that resellers can take out to market and the firm has already spotted an opportunity, adding HYCU alongside Nutanix Mine to create an integrated secondary storage solution.

“The initial market response to the Nutanix Mine with HYCU solution in particular has been remarkable and opens up significant opportunities for partners going after the secondary storage space, creating real value and true differentiation,” said Justyn Leonard, head of cloud transformation at Exclusive Networks.

The distributor is already working to get the vendor’s proposition included with some live deals that resellers are working on, and there are plans to keep that pipeline going through the rest of the year.

“Our channel partners are central to HYCU’s go-to-market strategy and we are dedicated to delivering innovation that enables their success; addressing complex IT and cloud infrastructure requirements while lowering the simplicity bar,” said Bogdan Viher, vice-president of international sales at HYCU.

“Exclusive Networks’ proven combination of specialist focus, value creation, local sale and global scale will support our growth objectives in EMEA [Europe, the Middle East and Africa] by increasing our influence on the cloud infrastructure partner ecosystem, particularly for Nutanix customers,” he added.
