Change at the top of Comms-care

With the business now a fully functioning part of Ingram Micro the managing director has opted to leave the services specialist

There has been a change at the top of Comms-care with the Ingram Micro owned services specialist ushering in a fresh managing director.

Ben Davies, who had been with the firm for 16 years has opted to step down as MD with immediate effect and will be replaced by the former operations director Mark Forster.

Davies was one of the founders of Comms-care and long with Scott Yates and Karen Holland set the business up in 2002. He started out as sales director but became managing director in 2011.

he is not the only one exiting the firm with Darren Briscoe, technical director, and Peter Lloyd, chairman, also leaving the business with the business now fully integrated into Ingram Micro.

The new leadership team will be led by Forster with Rob Darby, commercial director; Simon Day, professional services director and Steve Holah, finance director.

Both Forster and Darby have been promoted to Director level in the Ingram Micro Group and will be part of the distributor's executive leadership Team in the UK.

"Comms-care remains fully committed to the channel and all the principles on which the business has so far developed and I am confident that with the support of our exceptional team, Comms-care will be an exciting and successful place to be in the years ahead," said Forster.

"It was always planned that Ben, Darren and Peter would exit the business once the Ingram Micro acquisition had been completed successfully and I’m delighted to say they have left us in a position of real strength from which we can continue to capitalise on the tremendous opportunities within the channel," he added.

Matt Sanderson, company chief executive, Ingram Micro UK and Ireland, said that the decision to acquire Comms-care in May 2016 was one that had added to the strength of the overall business.

"Comms-care has performed exceptionally well since joining the Ingram Micro Group, continuing to develop its reputation as the leading IT services provider to the channel and as such will continue to operate as a separate entity under the Comms-care brand, whilst leveraging the synergies that being part of the wider group affords," he said.
