Channel round-up: Who’s gone where?

HR departments across the industry remain busy thanks to a flurry of executive appointments over the past seven days

The past week has seen some senior appointments with a few C-level changes as firms look for experience to help drive the business.

Rackspace

In a move that will bolster its leadership, Rackspace has appointed Andy Brierley as UK general manager. Brierley joins from IBM, where he has more than 20 years’ experience in vice-president and senior leadership roles. This appointment comes on the back of a fair amount of recent activity across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), with the firm bringing on board an EMEA managing director, Martin Blackburn, as well as general managers for the Netherlands, Germany and the Middle East.

“I’m delighted to be joining the company at such a pivotal moment in the region,” said Brierley. “The significant investment will further cement Rackspace’s position as the best partner to accelerate the business value of the cloud for years to come.”

Informatica

Enterprise cloud management player Informatica has appointed Aslam Jamal to vice-president of channels for EMEA and Latin America. The appointment follows swiftly on the firm’s launch of its intelligent cloud services and deepened relationships with the likes of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

Prior to joining Informatica, Jamal served as senior director of strategic alliances, EMEA, for ForgeRock, and has also held senior leadership positions at Cisco.

“Informatica is undergoing strong growth as it works with its leading channel and ecosystem partners to help fuel its customers’ data-driven, artificial intelligence-enabled digital transformations,” he said. “My focus at Informatica will be to build on our strong channel alliances ecosystem to deliver incremental revenue, market share and differentiation.”

Sitecore

Digital experience management software firm Sitecore is looking to Tom De Ridder to make a difference in the role of chief technology officer (CTO). He was previously the co-founder and chief technology officer of Stylelabs.

De Ridder will be given the task of helping develop innovation efforts, including Sitecore Content Hub and the forthcoming software-as-a-service (SaaS) version of Sitecore’s market-leading digital experience platform.

“Evolving our technology into a true SaaS offering sits at the heart of our strategic ambitions, but we also have a responsibility to protect our customers’ investments and continue to deliver innovation on the products they are using today,” said Sitecore CEO Mark Frost.

Mindtree

Mindtree has appointed Dayapatra Nevatia as chief operating officer (COO). He joins the business from Accenture where he was the managing director and director of delivery for advanced technology centres in India.

“We are excited to welcome Dayapatra to the Mindtree family,” said Debashis Chatterjee, CEO and managing director of Mindtree. “His vast industry experience along with proven track record will be a definite asset to Mindtree as we continue to stride on the journey of customer-centric growth.”

Datto

Managed services tools specialist Datto has appointed John Abbot as chief financial officer (CFO), with a brief to oversee the finances at a time when the firm is looking to expand its managed service provider (MSP) customer base. He joins from Cumulus Media, where held in a similar role.

“This is a pivotal time for the company and I’m excited to be joining Datto’s executive leadership team,” said Abbot. “Datto enjoys a unique and compelling position in the IT services space, and I am eager to contribute to the execution of its vision and be a part of the next phase of its evolution.”
