Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

Another week with some senior executives deciding that the time is right for a fresh challenge

A week when the pattern was around senior executives coming on board at various firms to drive growth with channel partners.

 

Datto   

The firm has made a trio of appointments to support its growth ambitions with Sanjay Singh becoming chief sales officer, Mark Simon as managing director of EMEA and Chris McCloskey who is CXO. "Our partners have told us, and we agree, that now more than ever, it’s a great time to be an MSP. We see promising growth for our partners and we anticipate that our new executive leaders will help shape and deliver on Datto's vision to meet those market demands," said Tim Weller, CEO at Datto. “More than 18 months after our merger with Autotask, we’re still growing our ecosystem. We signed on more than 1,500 new partners since the start of the year and continue to help them grow their revenue year-over-year."

Talend    

Frank Thomas has come on board as European head of partners with the responsibility for growing the partner ecosystem and the strategic partnerships in Europe. His CV includes time at Reuters and Informatica. “With strong experience in data management and cloud integration areas, Frank will help us support Talend's growth in Europe, as well as the success of our partners and customers," said Rolf Heimes, Head of Global Channel and Alliances, Talend.

Zscaler    

The moment has come for James Cater to make an impact as vice president and general manager for EMEA. he has 25 years experience in the security world and will be getting stuck in to expand relationships with partners. Cater joins Zscaler following a time at NetScout and, prior to that, Tata Communications, where he built and scaled these companies’ organisations in EMEA. “The world’s leading organisations are moving their applications out of their traditional data centres and into the cloud. They now realise that they have to move their security infrastructure, which protects access to those applications, to the cloud as part of their long-term digitisation strategy,” said James Cater, Vice President and General Manager, Zscaler EMEA.

 GTT Communications   

The cloud networking player has appointed Jesper Aagaard to division president, Europe, which includes the UK. Aagaard has served as president of GTT’s Europe division since joining from the acquisition of Interoute in 2018. Martin Ford will continue to lead the UK region, reporting to Aagaard. Rick Calder, GTT president and CEO, said that the appointment came at a moment when it was expanding its quota-bearing sales force to 500 representatives worldwide to address the significant market opportunity.
