Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

Another seven days that have seen personnel movement across the channel

The last few days have seen some promotions, a chance for some to switch employers and yet more evidence that experience is turned to by those firms seeking growth.

 

Information Builders 
The business intelligence player has appointed Bill Harmer as senior vice president for EMEA. He joins from SAP where he was sales director for its Database and Data Management Solutions. “I am delighted to be joining Information Builders at such an exciting time in the company’s history. Its customer-focused culture, strong channel partnerships, continuous product innovation, and cloud-first strategy align strongly with my own approach to organisational digital transformation and use of the best technology platforms to enable widespread data insights and improved business outcomes," said Harmer.

Veritas Technologies 
Phil Brace has been given the chance to leave his mark on the firm's appliances and software-defined storage business in the executive vice president role. He comes with 25 years worth of experience and was most recently President of the Cloud Systems and Silicon Group responsible for the Storage Systems Business and solid-state drive (SSD) product divisions at Seagate Technologies. “I’m excited to have a role in the launch of the Veritas Enterprise Data Services Platform and to bring my experience to bear to accelerate this vision and to have a role in the confidence and trust our customers have in Veritas in terms of protecting their most valuable asset; their data and assuring the availability and performance of their mission critical apps,” he said.

Opengear 
The resilient network specialist has turned to Alan Kinsey to step into the regional sales manager for UK & Ireland position. In the past past six months Opengear has added a Paris based Southern Europe Regional Sales Manager, along with an additional Sales Engineer and Inside Sales Executive to build and drive this region’s growth. he has a CV that includes time most recently at Riverbed Technology. Alan Stewart-Brown, VP EMEA, Opengear, said: “Alan’s appointment is key to our plans for strategic growth. His experience and deep understanding of diverse technology environments, coupled with his track record in exceeding targets, and in recruiting and working closely with channel partners, make him ideally suited to the role.”

M247 
The cloud player has made two senior appointments bringing on board Kelly Simkiss as UK managing director and Paul Pintiliescu to managing director - international to head up M247’s expansion globally. Simkiss has been promoted from customer operations director to MD UK at M247 and Pintiliescu has been promoted from global director to MD international. “I’m delighted to promote both Kelly and Paul to their new roles. Our customers are at the forefront of everything we do so making these two appointments will enable the business to keep a firm eye on the needs of our customer-based both here and overseas," said M247 CEO Jenny Davis.
