HPE rolls out Pro series to encourage closer ties with partners

Vendor hoping that giving the channel access to the same training and tools it provides internal staff will increase collaboration

HPE is rolling out a number of enhancements to its channel programmes to try and increase the skills across its partner base and crank up the collaboration the vendor can have with resellers on the sales, technical and marketing fronts.

The vendor is currently holding its global partner summit and the main channel announcement involves the arrival of the 'Pro' series, with sales, tech and marketing communities all lining up behind the approach.

The idea is that HPE arms partners with the same tools, training, resources and support that it provides its own internal staff, making it easier for everyone to be on the same page and collaborate together.

“Every professional within our channel partner community plays an integral role in selling the right solution to a customer,” said Paul Hunter global channel chief for HPE.

Improving partner growth and the ease of doing business with us through a collaborative community, with access to the right tools and resources via the ‘Pro’ series, demonstrates a new level of commitment and investment to enable our partners," he added.

The Sales Pro Community will unify previous regional programmes into a single reward scheme, provide more communication for partners through an interactive space that can be accessed by resellers and staff and give access to training materials that are used in-house/

The Tech Pro option introduces a rewards and recognition programme for solution architects, a full suite of continuous learning paths and the introduction of two new hybrid IT architect certifications - ASE Hybrid and Master.

The Marketing Pro Academy is developing with a pilot of an online learning centre that will become available more widely and the digital marketing partner accreditation programme, coming from 1 November.

The HPE Digital Marketing Accreditation will be given to those that have completed online learning courses and the vendor indicated that hundreds of partners have already used tools to assess their competencies in marketing ahead of that launch.

There will also be a social media centre to make it easy for partners to both consume the latest bits of information and share their own content with the wider community.
