Kilpatrick takes strategic role at Nuvias

Security industry veteran takes up a strategic role at the distributor to guide future plans

Security industry veteran Ian Kilpatrick is bringing his considerable experience to bear in a new role at distribution group Nuvias.

Kilpatrick currently holds the EVP for cybersecurity position at Nuvias but will add that knowledge to become a strategic advisor at the distributor helping drive that side of the business forward.

He will remain in charge of the overall security strategy, which includes selecting vendors, with the operational side being picked up by the rest of the distributor's organisation.

Kilpatrick said that the role would give him a chance to bring his many years of market experience to bear and tapped into something he had been doing successfully for a long time.

"It enables me to leverage the benefit of my many years in the industry and use those skills to further develop and grow Nuvias’ Cybersecurity Practice," he said.

“I will be looking at the big picture, in terms of winning strategies for Nuvias across an international market. Security is an exciting and dynamic area, with huge potential for future directions and expansion. There are a great many opportunities here for Nuvias to grow sales for existing vendors, to take on more new vendors and to increase penetration throughout EMEA," he added.

Nuvias acquired Wick Hill in 2015, which was run in the UK by Kilpatrick, and has made security, along with networking the cornerstones of its portfolio.

Paul Eccleston, Nuvias CEO said that the security side of the business had opportunities to expand further: “Ian has played a pivotal role in the development of our Cybersecurity Practice at Nuvias, one of our main areas of growth across EMEA. We will benefit greatly from his foresight and business intelligence in his new strategic role, as we develop further strategies to keep innovating and leading the channel through digital transformation.”
