Microsoft gives Westcon-Comstor Surface Hub distribution role
Microsoft has extended its UK distribution network for its large format Surface Hub collaboration tool
Microsoft has extended the distribution network for its Suface Hub product bringing Westcom-Comstor on board to get the channel player to wrap more comms services around the product.
The 55 inch or 84 inch screen has been a product that has had a slow build up in the channel with Microsoft initially appointing Maverick Tech Data as a distributor and getting the reseller Hub partner programme up to 15 plus members.
If Maverick was an audio visual specialist able to pitch the product to its reseller base then the Westcon-Comstor appointment is one that should add some communications players into the mix.
Westcon-Comstor's unified communications and collaboration solutions practice will integrate the Surface Hubs into 'collaborative environments' and the distributor will be adding Skype for Business services into the mix.
“We are focused on providing organisations with the best possible collaboration tools to ensure employees are able to work together more easily and effectively,” said Wayne Mason, EMEA UCC practice lead and general manager, Westcon-Comstor.
“The Microsoft Surface Hub absolutely ticks the box both from a technology perspective and in the culture of collaboration it creates. With our ability to wrap additional services around the Surface Hub and a comprehensive portfolio of complementary solutions for Skype for Business we are creating a very strong offer for the VAR community,” he added.
Ryan Asdourian, Windows and Surface lead at Microsoft UK, said that Westcon-Comstor was well placed to deliver collaboration solutions to resellers.
“We have been delighted with the reaction to the Surface Hub since it was first introduced to the UK market in 2016 and the addition of Westcon-Comstor as a distributor, combined with its strong portfolio of wrap-around services such as Skype for Business, will ensure that even more organisations are able to transform the way their employees collaborate, share and communicate," he said.
