Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

Another busy week with executives shuffling into fresh roles across the channel

Another busy few days in the channel as firms look to bring on board expertise that will help increase the speed of growth. If there is a theme of the week then, senior executives looking beyond the current horizons, would capture it.

Axcient 

The cloud migration solution specialist has shifted its chief marketing officer Angus Robertson into the chief revenue officer role. He will be responsible for the strategic direction of the newly merged sales and marketing division, revenue generation processes, operations, marketing, and ensuring key departments are aligned to create the best experience for MSPs. “Angus has demonstrated the expertise, dedication, and vision to lead the Sales and Marketing organization into the future,” said David Bennett, CEO of Axcient. “I am confident that the new direction will better align with the goals of our channel partners and support their cloud buying journey with a frictionless experience. Bringing these two organizations together will synchronize the data, intelligence, processes, and technologies required to move at the speed of the markets we serve.”

Zerto 

Former Veritas staffer Amber Johanson has joined as vice president of global pre-sales engineering with a brief to build a technical sales orgainsation that can help the firm's customers grapple with the big issues. “Amber’s experience will be an invaluable asset to the Zerto team. Her expertise in both technical product engineering and proven ability to build and maintain cohesive, effective teams will help us build on the recent successes in partnership and customer growth,” said Ziv Kedem, CEO, Zerto. “Amber has proven to be an effective thought leader, inspiring those she leads. Her commitment to a customer-focused solutions development approach will continue to drive innovation and expand adoption of IT Resilience solutions for customers.”

Software AG 

The firm has appointed Dr. Elke Frank as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and a member of the Executive Board effective from the start of next month. She is the first human resources officer to get this sort of invitation and she will be using her knowledge to make sure the firm attracts and retains the best staff. She comes with a CV littered with household names, including Daimler, Carl-Zeiss Vision, Microsoft and most recently Deutsche Telekom. “I’m thrilled to welcome Elke to the Software AG family to drive our people agenda. Our people are critical in accelerating our multi-year transformation. Elke will help us deliver on our promise of creating a culture we’re proud of – and that translates into our work with our customers and partners," said Sanjay Brahmawar, CEO of Software AG.

Avaloq 

The fintech specialist has appointed its first global head of sales after creating that role, with Marc Stähli the man to take up that challenge. Over the last four years he has been jointly responsible for the growth of Crealogix as its senior vice president global sales. The Swiss firm is hoping that the appointment of a global head will increase its presence outside of its current core markets, which include the UK. "Marc’s extensive sales experience in the fintech sector will help us accelerate Avaloq’s continued growth both in Switzerland and internationally," said Jürg Hunziker, Group CEO of Avaloq.

Consentua 

The consent and preference management platform specialist has given Richard Gomer the chance to make an impact as product director. He comes with an impressive academic background with a BSc Computer Science from the University of Southampton, a MSc and PhD in Web Science, with a thesis that focused on The Role of Human Values in Technology Design. The idea of Consentua was conceived out of a SmartCity Accelerator project, and was formerly known as Trust API, evolving to its current state in 2016.
