Cisco expands Veeam presence on its price list

After being added to the price list last autumn the two vendors are adding more options for partners to take out to customers

Veeam is building on its relationship with Cisco and has been given a chance to add more of its product line to the networking giant's price list.

The two have been working together for several years as Veeam got its technology validated to work with Cisco but last October it was first added to the price list, giving the firm the chance to expand its channel relationships.

The latest development will see the data management player put its High Availability product onto the price list, which is available to Cisco partners and works with the vendor's Hyperflex line.

“Our partnership with Cisco has only continued to strengthen and expand,” said Peter McKay, Co-CEO and president at Veeam.

“Veeam Availability on Cisco HyperFlex responds to feedback from large enterprise customers and service provider partners who have asked for additional integrated solutions with Cisco. Customers will have the benefit of purchasing from one vendor as this solution will be offered directly from Cisco," he added.

Siva Sivakumar, Sr. director of data center solutions at Cisco, said that it had wanted to add more depth to the proposition it could put in front of partners and customers.

“As the data protection market evolves to more software defined and scale-out, the need for a scalable Enterprise-ready platform and feature rich software stack is critical to ensure customer success,” he said.

“Our joint goal is to continue expanding the solution with new capabilities that address modern IT recovery, retention and resiliency requirements,” he added.

Veeam has a history of working with other vendors as one of the ways it expands its channel footprint and as well as Cisco in the last 18 months has formed resale relationships with HPE and NetApp. The firm has also formed ties with Nutanix, IBM, and Pure.
