Civica snaps up iCasework to bolster GDPR support

The firm has made its fifth acquisition this year to add more depth to the support it can provide for customers looking for GDPR support

Civica has continued to use acquisition as a means of expanding its cloud-based software offerings opting to make its fifth acquisition this year picking up case management specialist firm iCasework.

London-based iCasework sells into both the public and private sector providing customers looking for tools that can help with complaints and correspondence management, which can tap into demand for support with GDPR.

Even though the hype that led up to the arrival of GDPR has largely dissipated there continues to be many firms either still not up to speed or trying to cope with the demands that the compliance regulations have sparked.

The firm, which has been around for 20 years, sells to customers in the UK, US and Australia and will add some muscle to the regulatory compliance work that Civica already offers.

Civica UK has been building its capabilities around compliance in different areas and earlier this year picked up debt recovery and enforcement software player OneStep, which it has now fully integrated.

As well as OneStep there have been three other deals struck this year, with Nationwide Retail Systems, Visionware and Carelink all picked up between May and August.

“I am delighted to welcome iCasework to the Group. The business combines a strong team with a sophisticated capability applicable across all of our market sectors, and closely aligned with our software and digital solutions portfolio," said Wayne Story, Civica Group CEO.

In response, Hans Grefte, iCasework managing director, said, “All organisations are dealing with growing expectation from customers and greater regulatory demands. Organisations are increasingly looking to automated case management processes, and we look forward to our increased ability to respond and deliver greater value as part of the Civica Group.”
