WatchGuard adds Purdicom to distribution line-up

Security player looks to cover more networking and cloud resellers via latest distribution appointment

WatchGuard has added Purdicom to its UK distribution line-up giving itself a greater chance of reaching out to networking and cloud channel specialists.

The security player already works with Nuvias and Northamber and will bring giving its latest distribution partner access to a portfolio that includes protection for wi-fi and networks.

The appointment also comes at a time when WatchGuard has been looking to build more channel momentum, reaching out to MSPs and resellers from other disciplines that want to add security into the mix.

It has also been using its WatchGuardONE partner programme to get current resellers to expand their knowledge with it ushering in network security, secure Wi-Fi and multi-factor authentication (MFA) specialisations in May, with a number of financial incentives on offer to those that go through the training.

Jonathan Whitley, sales director for Northern Europe at WatchGuard, said that the vendor had been on a mission to expand its channel footprint.

"We are putting a lot of resources into partner recruitment and a have added a lot of partners this year in the UK," he added "We are adding to the distributor landscape."

He said that the Purdicom relationship would add an extra dimension in its channel makeup: “With its focus on fixed and wireless networking solutions in the mid-market, we are in an ideal position to add the all-important security piece to Purdicom’s growing portfolio.

Steve Kent, sales & marketing director at Purdicom, said that it would be able to add security into provide more of a solution for resellers.

“With two tiers of security services, Basic and Total Security Suite, WatchGuard provides security solutions for a wide range of vertical markets backed up by a strong reputation for supporting its channel partners," he said.
