Olive Communications sets sights on global expansion

The communications firm has taken steps to increase its global coverage with an operation in Australia

Cloud telephony and UC provider Olive Communications has set its horizons far from its High Wycombe base after cutting the ribbon on an Australian office.

Olive Cloud Solutions is a subsidiary of Olive Group and will be run out of Brisbane as step one of a global expansion that also includes a North American operation at some point in the near future.

The firm has reacted to the demands of customers that are looking for support on a global basis and want more 'in region' support from their suppliers.

“We have seen Olive evolve from a highly capable Enterprise Mobility supplier into a fully-fledged Cloud Based telephony and Unified Communications managed services provider in the past five years, with an increasing number of large customers requiring global solutions," said Olive Chief Executive, Martin Flick.

“For many years, we have supported corporate citizens working for UK based organisations using an Olive device as they travel the world, day and night. However, as the needs of our expanding customer base changes, our developing global portfolio and support model is evolving to ensure we continue to be best in class," he added.

The recent deal the firm struck with Innovation Group, where it was providing a cloud-based contact centre and UC platform to staff working across the UK, US and Australia is an example of the sort of contracts Olive is now landing.

The Australian venture has taken a few months to get to this stage with some Olive staffers working in the country on secondment and the firm will be working with fellow Mitel partner Azentro, which will help overflow support in peak periods and devise a joint sales and marketing strategy.

"Our businesses have a really good cultural fit, and similar ethos of putting customer experience at the top of the agenda. Our partnership alliance provides a win-win for all involved parties," said Bob Bishop, Azentro Chairman.
