Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

It's been another busy week in the HR departments across the channel as more executives come and go

The first quarter has come to a close and firms across the channel are taking steps to make sure they have the right expertise on hand to move into Q2.

Softomotive
The Robotic Process Automation (RPA), has announced the appointment of former Sage CEO Guy Berruyer as chairman of the board. The firm has doubled its headcount in the last year and will be looking to lean on Berruyer's expertise to help keep that growth coming. In his time at Sage he helped the firm move to a subscription model and embrace the cloud. "Softomotive is transforming extremely fast and part of my role as Chairman is to act as a mentor, so I'm looking forward to sharing my experience," he said.

Exertis Supplies
The distributor has promoted Andrew Beaumont from the role of supplies, operations director to the managing director position. He is succeeding Raj Advani who has relocated to Europe and remains commercial director. “Andrew has been part of our succession planning process and is the natural choice to continue the great work that Raj and his team have delivered since we acquired Advent Data. Raj has led our successful supplies business for the past eight years, ensuring its continued growth and reputation as a leading distributor in this specialist market," said Paul Bryan, Exertis UK& I, managing director "Equally, it is great that we have someone who knows the business so well as Andrew to succeed Raj. He has many years’ experience in the supplies market, and I have every confidence in his ability and desire to drive the business forward in the future.”

BMC Software
A shuffle at the top means that Peter Leav, who has been CEO since 2016 is stepping down to take a career break. That gives former chairman and CEO Bob Beauchamp the chance to return as interim president and CEO. Jim Schaper, another former employee returns to the fold as the chairman of the board. Blair Christie who was previously chief marketing officer and senior vice president of corporate communications and investor relations at Cisco has been appointed to the board. “It’s a great time to be at BMC, particularly with its expansion into artificial intelligence and machine learning, cutting-edge dev ops capabilities, and cloud integrations," said Beauchamp.

Nuxeo
The cloud player has given Stephan Van Herck the chance to have an impact on its channel in the position vice president for EMEA. He will be looking after all indirect and direct sales with a brief to look for fresh places to increase its channel reach. His CV includes time at IBM, FileNet and Adobe. “With an innovative and modern approach to content services, large global brands as customers, and an open and supportive culture, Nuxeo is well positioned for success,” he said.

Genmed
The managed services player focused on the NHS has appointed Nicky Carless as national sales manager. Prior to joining Genmed, she worked at Leica Microsystems for 10 years in a variety of roles culminating in her being sales account manager responsible for the company’s histopathology portfolio of equipment. “I’ve always had an interest in managed services as they relate to laboratory medicine. I see this as the best way forward for the NHS to procure what they need," she said.
