Fujitsu adds vDaaS to the options on offer to MSPs

Vendor continues to add more options for channel partners adding a virtual desktop infrastructure proposal to the list

Fujitsu has continued to add more depth to the range of options it can offer resellers and MSPs after adding virtual desktop as a service to the mix.

The vendor has stepped up its support for MSPs, with it indicating in December that a pilot programme designed to run for several months had proved to be so successful it went live earlier than planned. It followed that by adding the uSCALE proposition in January, which gives service providers options for renting infrastructure without exposing them to infrastructure costs.

A couple of months on and the momentum has continued to build with the vDaaS offering that is designed to make it easier for the channel to get customers using VDI.

Fujistu is convinced that it is knocking on an opening door having undertaken research that indicates that the number of users in an organisation using DaaS is going to rise to 28% in three years time and 42% in five years. The option is also very popular with admins looking for a route to Windows 10.

“The traditional IT channel is changing; more of our channel partners are looking to evolve their business models and grow their annuity revenue, and our service provider partners are transitioning into service integrators to add more value to their customers," said Leigh Schvartz, head of cloud and managed provider offerings at Fujitsu UK and Ireland.

"Fujitsu vDaaS removes the barriers to setting up a service in a high growth market, enabling our partners to add a new revenue stream to their business with no up-front cost or risk," he added.

The cloud forms the backbone of the service and Fujistu is working with hosting specialist Cogeco Peer 1 to give resellers the chance to pitch a full-rounded solution.

“Fujitsu’s service provider program is a very exciting development within the industry and Cogeco Peer 1 is proud to be a founding member," said Susan Bowen, President of Cogeco Peer 1 "Our IT infrastructure is built upon market leading technologies which will offer a complete workplace solution that Fujitsu partners are able to rely on."
