Computer Weekly's Cliff Saran speaks to Phil Young, head of online at TfL, about its re-engineered website, which has been optimised for mobile access.
"We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to get the best out of London, travel to their jobs and get home," says Young.
Along with mobile access, Young says TfL's design goals also included bringing multiple TfL sites under one umbrella site and integrating data services, so that customers can choose the most suitable public transport option to reach their destination. This has been one of the biggest areas of work in the project.
"We are integrating all [our public transport] data beneath the site using one API, normalising the data to provide a great user experience," he says.
