RSA, the security division of EMC, plans to establish a Cloud Trust Authority (CTA) beta by the second half of 2011 to promote enterprise adoption of the cloud.
The CTA is described as a set of cloud-based services to enable secure and compliant relationships with cloud service providers.
RSA says CTA is aimed at fostering the trust necessary for organisations to adopt cloud computing for mission-critical applications and sensitive information.
"Surveys show that lack of trust in cloud computing is slowing broader adoption of cloud services," says RSA executive chairman Art Coviello.
In his new role as executive chairman of RSA, he is charged with championing trust in cloud computing.
In an interview at RSA Conference 2011, Coviello gave more details of what this set of services will look like, and why RSA is qualified to take a leadership position.
