UKtech50: Susan Cooklin, Network Rail

Computer Weekly hosted an event in London to announce the UKtech50 list of the most influential people in UK IT. We invited 12 top IT leaders to share their great ideas for how to innovate with IT, influence the role of technology in their organisation, and inspire their peers. This video is one of a series of 12 with the speakers talking to the audience of over 100 IT leaders.

Susan Cooklin, CIO of Network Rail, discusses how the company needed to ensure that the IT operation during the London Olympics ran flawlessly during the events while running major technology change projects. She shares with us the lessons learned during the Games – and how it felt to lead an IT department that was under the world’s scrutiny.
