Hyper-V Switch

Hyper-V in Windows Server 8 has a host of improvements. They begin with scalability. A Hyper-V host can now have up to 160 logical processors and 2TB of RAM, and a Hyper-V guest can have up to 32 virtual processors and 512GB RAM. A new virtual disk format, VHDX, supports disks of more than 2TB. A virtual RemoteFX video adapter enables guests to support fast 3D graphics using the GPU on the server. Server 8 is now intelligent about NUMA (Non-Uniform Memory Access) and a Hyper-V VM is NUMA-aware and will optimise accordingly, minimising reads and writes across NUMA boundaries.
