Samsung has opened a digital classroom at The Prince’s Trust's Kennington Centre, to give disadvantaged young people access to digital technology and improve their prospects of jobs in the IT industry.
The classroom is part of a wider initiative by The Prince’s Trust to embed digital and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills across all its programmes.
Samsung is providing the technology, teacher training, connectivity and maintenance support for the centre.
Martina Milburn, chief executive of The Prince’s Trust, said: “We are delighted to be opening the digital classroom at our Kennington Centre. Samsung has been a very close partner over the last two years and this is another step towards our goal of embedding digital and STEM skills across all our programmes.”
Andy Griffiths, president of Samsung UK, said the IT supplier firmly believes technology can change people’s lives. “We are fully committed to helping young people unlock their learning potential through technology," he said.

Minister for civil society Nick Hurd said: "The Samsung and Prince's Trust digital classroom is a fantastic facility to teach digital and STEM skills to the young people in London who need it most.
