Former BSkyB head of operations and technology, Bevan Gibson, has been named as the new chief technology officer...
(CTO) of ITN.
Gibson will lead a team of 90, including broadcast engineers and software developers to develop ITN’s digital media solutions, network infrastructure and workflows.
Gibson will join the team in April, and will report directly to the chief executive officer, John Hardie.
The appointment comes after former director of technology, Keith Cass, retires after 34 years at the public service news provider.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining ITN at this exciting time for the company and the news media as a whole,” said Bevan Gibson. “ITN has a long heritage of technical excellence and I look forward to being part of the next chapter of that innovation. There is huge opportunity to be realised for ITN during this period of accelerated pace of change in news gathering and digital media.”
