Vodafone appoints new UK CEO

By Jennifer Scott

Guy Laurence has announced he is leaving his post as CEO of Vodafone to head up Canadian firm Rogers Communications.

Laurence has worked for Vodafone for over 10 years, holding a variety of roles – including CEO of Vodafone Netherlands – but has had the top job in the UK since 2008.

He will be replaced by the UK enterprise director Jeroen Hoencamp. The new CEO only came to the UK in January to take up his current role but is also a veteran of Vodafone, having run the company’s operations in Ireland for over two years and having held a number of positions in marketing and sales within Vodafone Netherlands.

We contacted Vodafone to find out why the change was being made and Laurence’s reason for leaving but it had not responded to our request at the time of publication.

Laurence will make the move across the Atlantic in November and Hoencamp will report to Philipp Humm, the regional CEO of Vodafone in Europe.
