SunGard acquisition expands hedge investment portfolio

Antony Savvas

SunGard has acquired Integrated Business Systems, a provider of software and related services to hedge funds.

Integrated’s Visual Portfolio Manager (VPM) is a portfolio accounting program used by more than 50 hedge fund managers. VPM is used to process more than $135bn (£73bn) in assets, said SunGard.

VPM becomes the latest addition to SunGard’s family of investment offerings, covering decision support, risk management, trading, securities lending, and accounting.

SunGard will continue to position VPM as a portfolio accounting system for use by hedge fund managers, and as a complementary offering to SunGard’s existing applications serving the hedge fund and fund administration industry.

These include Front Arena, Monis, InvestOne Enterprise, and InvesTier.

The value of the acquisition has not been disclosed.
