NetApp's Australian Marketing Director Roger Mannett has left the company.
The company's PR firm confirmed his departure to SearchStorage ANZ today.
Mannett was formerly employed by Telstra, where he was integral in the telco's adoption of NetApp products. NetApp says some of the cloud storage features of Data OnTap 8 were developed at Telstra and Sensis.

UPDATE: 1:45 PM Thursday, March 4th
NetApp ANZ Managing Director Peter O'Connor today told SearchStorage ANZ Mannett's departure was amicable, as the company is looking to do more marketing through the channel. Mannett's background is not in the channel, leading NetApp to seek someone with more appropriate skills. O'Connor said the company is very close to coming to terms with someone to fill the role.
"We are going to give more attention to partners and global system integrators," O'Connor said, adding that the company intends to "focus on about eight partners." O'Connor then mentioned AlphaWest and Data#3, but said the company is also doing record business with Dimension Data at present, despite that company's EMC affiliations.
