Apple releases new iOS beta version to developers

Apple has released a beta version of its iOS operating system for developers. The iOS 4.3 beta is available through the iOS Dev Centre.

New features include four and five finger gestures; pinch to the home screen; swipe up to reveal the multitasking tray; and swipe left/right to switch apps.

It also includes support for a "personal hotspot", enabling the iPhone to create a Wi-Fi hotspot that other devices can use, and more AirPlay support, allowing apps and websites to send video from an iPhone or an iPad to an Apple TV.

Apple blog TiPb said the code also indicated that the iPad 2 would have the ability to take photographs and shoot videos.
