The schools have gone back and the for most people the weather has chosen to act as a reminder that the summer holidays are over.
That means it that for most personnel departments the teams are ready to get back to processing those fresh appointments, with plenty being made this week.

The channel player has shuffled its team in the retail division with Teresa Johnson taking the post of Retail Account Director and Jenny Parkinson, who has joined Tech Data from New Dawn Innovations, stepping into Johnson’s previous post of Business Development Manager for Smart Home and Networking. Johnson will be tasked with managing some of the key retailer accounts. Ross Turner, head of Retail Sales at Tech Data, said: “We’re investing strongly to ensure that retail customers get the best possible experience and can make the most of the opportunities that new consumer technologies bring."
The distributor has made a couple of appointments to beef up its purchasing team. Kati Eagle has been promoted to the role of purchasing director IT/Mobile based in Basingstoke and Stephen Davidson has been recruited as the purchasing director for the consumer division, based in Harlow. Both will report to Mark Kahr, Exertis UK purchasing director. "These appointments reflect the importance of the purchasing function in technology distribution and our ambition to continue to provide a great service to our partners," said Kahr.
Another firm that likes to make its appointments in pairs with Barbara Spicek joining as vice president of global channels and alliances and David Noy getting the role of vice president of product management for Veritas Software-Defined Storage (SDS) and Appliances portfolios. Spicek joins from Gigamon where she was vice president of worldwide channel sales.
The firm has appointed Matthew Hicks and Andrew Brunt as channel development managers as the firm makes more of a commitment to its reseller base. "They will play a leading role in building and supporting Liquid Voice’s channel network as we continue to develop new and innovative contact centre and control room solutions that further extend our market leadership," said Chris Berry, co-founder of Liquid Voice and managing director of the UK operation.
The intelligent information management firm has hired Stefan Recher as ive president of sales for contiental Europe. Before this position Recher was a group vice president at AtoS and group vice president at Bull.
