Information Builders has taken its first steps into a relationship with distribution after it partnered with Avnet's technology business solutions business unit.
The distributor will have access to the WebFOCUS BI and analytics portfolio as part of the vendor's Analytics Accelerator programme.
The decision to sign up Avnet marks an expansion in the types of partnerships the business intelligence specialist is looking for, with it traditionally widening its root to market through OEM relationships with other vendors.
"Information Builders has been working with partners since our company founding in 1975. Current technology partners include IBM, Teradata, HortonWorks, MapR, AWS, Microsoft and Cloudera. We have system integrator partnerships with trusted advisors who recommend and implement our software across Europe and ISV partnerships where we are delivering embedded analytics through WebFOCUS," said Peter Walker, vp EMEA at Information Builders.
"Our channel focus over the past few years has been to create more OEM, referral and reseller relationships to drive more revenue. OEM relationships with the likes of SAP and Oracle enable us to have up-to-date integration adapters. Technology partners like IBM, Amazon, Teradata, Cloudera, Microsoft – ensure that our products work on every platform and access every database. This is vital to our fundamental corporate mission of making data available as actionable information to every user, no matter where they are or their role in an organization," he added.
Walker added that it was committed to partnerships and had seen success in its OEM relationships and last month had taken the wraps off the Analytics Accerlator programme.
"IDC has predicted that the big data and business analytics market is set to increase by 50 per cent to £128billion by 2019. This growth will come from small, medium and large enterprises across every vertical sector which will be well served by our direct and channel partner business models for all solutions from Information Builders," he added The aim of the programme is to target referral/resellers who can promote WebFOCUS to their customer base in exchange for our highest margin. Partners can sell deals on their paper and capture implementation revenue and renewals."
The vendor is expecting the Analytics Accelerator programme to form the main plank of its EMEA growth strategy this year as it forms new partnerships and takes the products into customers and markets which have not been touched before.
Craig Smith, director IoT & Analytics, Avnet Technology Solutions, EMEA, said that the distributor was always on the look out for strategic partnerships that would benefit its reseller customers.
