Specialist Computer Services (SCS), which is part of the Rigby Group, has taken steps to ensure it can remain a major player in the HR and payroll market by acquiring Pyramid.
SCS already provides HR, payroll and data scanning services to public and private sector customers across Europe and it can now add the Pyramid expertise to that operation.
Coming from a background where it has developed and designed its own product for customer in personnel management the Pyramid acquisition brings on board skilled staff that can add some muscle to the SCS proposition.
Until this point SCS had resold the NGA HR Unipay product but will now be providing its own offering to customers.
“The acquisition of Pyramid gives SCS a fresh, flexible and innovative solution to help grow the future of that business," said Sir Peter Rigby, chairman and chief executive of Rigby Group.
“We are very conscious of the loyalty and levels of service that SCS has enjoyed over some 40 years, so it is important we continue to invest in SCS to ensure its growth and success," he added "Pyramid offers SCS an up-to-date, highly functional HR Payroll solution to market, develop & sell.”
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Pyramid, which was founded in 1996, although registered as a company a year later.
The system that SCS takes on covers all aspects of personnel management, including HR, payroll, employee self service, e-Recuritment as well as e-Payslips.
Tim Markham, managing director of SCS, said that the acquisition, for an undisclosed amount, had been made to ensure that it had a product that it could develop and take out to its customers for the long-term.
Bening part of the SCC Group the SCS operation can lean on the data centre infrastructure that the firm has built up over the last few years to provide customers looking for a secure home for HR information with options across the UK.
