Silver Peak puts the emphasis on local support

Changes made this month designed to provide partners with stronger local support

Silver Peak has changed its European and UK management as it looks to deliver a more local approach and increase the support it can offer channel partners.

It has been a busy month for the SD-WAN specialist with Kristian Thyregod joining as vice president for EMEA region and Allan Paton taking on the role of regional sales director to lead United Kingdom and Ireland sales.

Thyregod is a believer of the new for local management and having got the UK sorted is now turning his attention to Germany and France.

"When you are in the category that requires consultative selling the sales notion is local and it has to be enabled locally. Partner engagement has to be local as well. You need strong local leadership," he said.

He said that the focus going forward would be on delivering "a stable sales support and organisation in the UK," which had a capable sales team and a decent base to grow from.

One of the other tasks that Thyregod will be going through is to review its distribution partners and reseller base to check in on the health of the community and it was open to adding to its partner ranks.

"We will certainly be looking for more partners in traditional VARs that are looking to augment their business with services. But we do not want to over populate each and every market with partners," he said.

Both Thyregod and Paton join from Riverbed and have a firm grasp on what is happening in the SD-WAN market, which is tipped for strong growth this year.

Silver Peak has spent the last three years establishing itself in the SD-WAN market moving away from its original WAN optimisation roots.

Thyregod said that although it did not wrap up its fiscal year until the end of July it was expecting growth in both the fiscal and calendar year.
