Compass will be integrated into ACS's business solutions divisions, which already sells to hundreds of academies, independent schools and further education providers and in the year to 31 July 2013 the firm generated revenues of £7.7m and £3.3m EBITDA and is expected to be "immediately earnings enhancing".
As well as providing CRM and record management to UK colleges and higher education establishments Compass also delivers training and support to more than 80% of UK colleges and higher education establishments.
“This earnings enhancing acquisition is complementary to the Group’s existing education sector offering. It provides us with greater critical mass and a broader product range for the growing education market in the UK," said Vin Murria, chief executive at ACS.
“Significantly, in line with previous acquisitions, Compass has high levels of long term recurring revenue and offers considerable opportunity for cross-selling Group products and services," she added.
ACS has used acquisition as a way of bolstering its education portfolio in the past with it sealing a £7.25m deal for Serco's education unit, Serco Learning, back in December 2012.
