Having sealed its status as an IBM Global Training partner Arrow Electronics has followed that up with the launch of an alliance designed to improve the support it can provide resellers.

The distributor has taken the wraps off is Global Training Alliance and introduced its first member in the shape of training course specialist Fast Lane, which will now be offering IBM support to its global network.
The aim of the Alliance is to establish a global ecosystem that will eventually grow from covering the current 60 countries to provide IBM training in a total of 130 nations by the middle of this year.
“Education is a key element of our value-added services, enabling the market and the channel to support technology suppliers with product and solution readiness,” said Laurent Sadoun, president of the EMEA region and global services for Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions segment.
Sadoun added that further enhancements to the way the distributor delivered training were also coming down the line as it looked to work with more vendors in its portfolio.
“Arrow will soon complement the portfolio with a solution approach addressing critical business areas such as Big Data, mobility, security and cloud computing leveraging its IBM strategic relationship in product businesses, combined with Arrow’s unique network of complementary vendors in security, virtualisation and mobility," he said.
Arrow along with Avnet was appointed to become IBM Global Training partners last summer giving the distributors access to 2,500 Big Blue training courses that can be made available to the vendor's own staff, resellers and customers either from the distie or through other training partners like Fast Lane.
