Westcon Convergence has launched a dedicated Microsoft Lync programme, dubbed discoverUC.com, designed to help partners come to terms with the complex environments surrounding Redmond’s unified communications platform.

With a large number of hardware products required to work in unison to implement a complete Lync solution, Westcon believes it has spotted a need among partners for extra help when it comes to supply chain and logistical issues, or on-boarding with multiple partners and systems.
The discoverUC programme has been designed to address these issues, simplifying the process of wrangling multiple vendors and offering access to Westcon’s existing Lync support and value added programmes.
The distie hopes this will get parteers more focused on accelerating time to market and growing margins in other areas.
Its online hub will house all vendor enablement offers for Lync partners, and includes an interactive vendor selector to see where different elements fit into a Lync deployment, as well as the usual range of enablement offers and initiatives, services, training and other resources.
“With discoverUC Microsoft can now point customers to a single web portal if they require distribution and vendors can have a focused route to market with access to Westcon EMEA channel partner base, providing more targeted and competitive offers for Lync partners,” said Westcon Convergence European marketing director Runa Mcleod.
“And finally, customers now have a dedicated Lync site where they can simplify vendor enablement and access exclusive Westcon offers plus an array of other resources. Through value added programmes and support - Westcon makes Lync simpler and more profitable,” she added.
