The swing by the channel towards offering managed services is gaining pace with more resellers adding the capability to deliver greater support to customers.

The CA Technologies Channel Indez has revealed that 57% of its partners have made a transition to selling managed services and a further 30% revealed that they know that they have to follow suit.
The survey of partners across EMEA showed that along with managed services the other main theme continues to be cloud with more customers expecting to move into that area over the second half of this year.
“The Channel Index study shows that our partners are rapidly responding to the market by evolving their business model to provide new managed services that meet customer needs. We are committed to supporting our partners with our technology and channel programme as they help customers manage complex IT environments and leverage new IT service delivery models," said Andrea Dossena, vice president of growth markets and partner sales for EMEA, CA Technologies.
When it comes to the specifics the managed services that most resellers are delivering are around application poerformance, then service management, identity and access management and backup and recovery.
Dossena said that customers were increasingly looking for IT that would help them meet the need to innovate but keep costs down and managed services provided more value options.
